Open crescent rolls and slice each in half, yielding 16 pieces of dough.
Spread 1/2 tsp of dressing on the dough.
Place about 3/4 tsp of sauerkraut on the wide end of the dough. Then add about 3/4 tsp of shredded Swiss cheese on top of that. Place hot dog or lil' smokie on top on the wide end.
Beginning at the wide end, roll the hot dog up in the dough. The hot dog should peak out just a bit on both sides. Top each blanket with optional seeds. The best way to do this is to dip your fingers in water and immediately sprinkle with the seeds.
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375 for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
