Reuben Pigs in a Blanket
A spin on a classic appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 can crescent rolls
- quartered hot dogs or lil' smokies
- 1/4 cup thousand island or Russian dressing
- 1/4 cup grated Swiss cheese
- 1/4 cup sauerkraut, drained
- sesame seeds or caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Open crescent rolls and slice each in half, yielding 16 pieces of dough.
- Spread 1/2 tsp of dressing on the dough.
- Place about 3/4 tsp of sauerkraut on the wide end of the dough. Then add about 3/4 tsp of shredded Swiss cheese on top of that. Place hot dog or lil' smokie on top on the wide end.
- Beginning at the wide end, roll the hot dog up in the dough. The hot dog should peak out just a bit on both sides. Top each blanket with optional seeds. The best way to do this is to dip your fingers in water and immediately sprinkle with the seeds.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375 for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
