Saltine Toffee

Salty, sweet, crunchy, and sticky! This dessert is super easy and so delicious!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 sleeves saltine crackers
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate chips
  • chopped pecans

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425. Line a rimmed cookie sheet with foil. Cover with the saltines in a single layer.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, melt butter and brown sugar together, stirring occasionally and bring to a boil. Once boiling, leave undisturbed for 5 minutes. Your caramel should be 270-290F when checked with a thermometer.
  • Remove from heat and pour over saltines and spread evenly. Bake for 4-5 minutes or until just bubbly.
  • Working quickly, sprinkle chocolate chips on top and as they begin to melt spread evenly across the pan. Top with chopped pecans.
  • Move the pan to the fridge for 2 hours or until firm. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
