A fresh new store is coming to the Benderson Development-owned shopping center on 53rd Avenue West in Bradenton. Detwiler’s Farm Market signed a lease for approximately 50,000 square feet of anchor space, marking the grocers sixth location in Manatee and Sarasota counties. The property, formerly known as Marketplace West, will be renamed Detwiler’s Marketplace.
Detwiler’s is a family-owned and operated grocery chain that has been steadily growing since 2002. What started as a roadside produce stand has turned into now six brick-and-mortar stores between Palmetto and Venice. Detwiler’s has developed a strong regional fan base thanks to its fresh local produce offered at the lowest prices. In addition to produce, the store features top-quality deli, bakery, seafood and meat departments.
