Strawberry Pretzel Salad

The perfect light dessert

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 8 oz container cool whip
  • 6 oz strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 quart strawberries, sliced

Instructions
 

  • Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add jello. Stir to dissolve and let cool to room temperature.
  • Crush pretzels in a ziplock bag. Place in a large bowl and add melted butter and 1/4 cup sugar. Mix until well combined.
  • Place crust in a 9x13 baking dish and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Cool.
  • In a large bowl, take softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and mix until cream cheese is smooth. Fold in cool whip. Place on cooled crust and spread evenly. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • In the meantime, hull and slice strawberries and add to room temperature jello. Pour over cooled cream cheese mix. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours until jello is set.
