Brown Butter Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Brown Butter Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk Cookies


  • 7 tbsp salted butter - browned
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour Add an extra 2 tbsp flour for slightly thicker cookies
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 oz sweet or bittersweet chocolate - chopped


  • Brown your butter in a skillet. Let cool.
  • Into your mixer, add butter and brown sugar. Mix, then add the egg and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together and then add to the wet mix.
  • After well combined, add in the chocolate.
  • Let the dough sit in the fridge for 1 hour. If you're pushed for time, put them in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375 and as soon as you add the cookies, drop the heat to 350. Bake for 12 minutes. You can bake them for less time if you want a more gooey cookie. Sprinkle with sea salt as they come out of the oven to cool. Enjoy!
